It is true, Obama himself has been talking Uranus (urging people to lead HIM). I do not deny there is something preternatural about him (that smile! When is the last time you’ve seen a politician with a relaxed, genuine smile?), and about his arriving on the scene just now. But just as our mothers always told us about our prospective boyfriends, we have to observe what he does, not what he says.

Great article. I’ve thought from the beginning that Obama is this metaphysical symbol of light or dark. Depending on who you are you will see the light and hope through Obama or you will see more of the dark and pain…
What I find important to consider here is Obama’s own consistent reminder that it is up to us… It is up to us to wake up and pay attention. It is up to us to hold our leaders accountable, and make sure they are doing the job in support of Us. It is our Consciousness that will be reflected in the actions our Government takes….

What a surreal time we live in where "leaders" revel in self adulation all the while "Rome burns".

Obama=Change??? Not with that Saturn in Capricorn.

This is exactly what we need to wake us from our perpetual state of unconsciousness...... A good burning down of our collective "hut".

Love “The Audacity of Hype”. It’s the American way. No matter how much class a public person has, and this new prez has class to burn — they’re bound to get swallowed up in HYPE. It must have to do with the populace having become consumers instead of citizens. Political campaigns HYPE us — sell to us; pitch at us — instead of speak to us. Would love to have another podcast. Thank you, Stella. I agree that hero worship is a form of surrendering power. Yet the dualistic mindset in our culture is so entrenched (”You’re either on his side, or you’re on the other side”) that to critique Obama’s policies is interpreted as “hopelessness”. Really the opposite is true. To cling to the illusion that a single individual could save the world strikes me as a sure recipe for hopelessness; because one or another form of hopelessness will inevitably strike when — not if — that hero falls from his pedestal.

THANK YOU, Jessica! I’m so grateful for your wise Saturnian reality check in the midst of this Neptunian slumber party. I’ve been disheartened to see how many astrologers have jumped on board with the Obama-fest, despite being aware that he’s “playing Neptune” for all of us. I guess, as we near the end of the Piscean Age, we need another collective lesson in the dangers of hero worship and surrendering our power…
