Although the intent of universities was to educate (or perhaps "preserve the status quo"), the structures are very much top-down and patriarchical. I knew that I was most certainly NOT going to uphold those demands.<br /><br />In 1994 I was about the only 30ish female I know married to a man 10 years her junior. Again, I find myself in another marriage that breaks stereotype(and yet they have found a way to stereotype older women who marry a younger partner by calling them "cougars")which seems offensive to others. <br /><br /><br />I have allowed my hair to return to it's natural state (gray) while my partner is allowed the freedom to express who he feels he is at this point in time.
