LMB,
Yes, that movie really came along when it did for a reason. The Neptune-Chiron transit is profoundly rare and by definition universal: a world-wide game-changer. In these essays my focus is the USA, whose chart's Moon the transit conjuncts. The USA is the primary creator and exporter of those intelligence-numbing pop-culture artifacts that distract us so we don't have to self-reflect. A recent study says that the average US child spends 7 1/2 hours per day on some kind of electronic equipment (incl. TV). As an antidote, we could start by turning the gadgets off. Going outside. Forming real, as opposed to electronic, friendships.

excerpt: [Thus inspired, they galloped into undefended parts of the globe, appropriated the resources, and took up “the white man’s burden.”] replace "globe" with "galaxy" and voila - James Cameron's "Avatar"
excerpt: [Designed to distract, they keep our minds off our isolation and loneliness.] "Our" meaning just the U.S. populus or Earth's? BTW, can you recommend an antidote for the isolation and lonliness?

Keep up the good work Jessica.

Hi Jessica.
I found this blog really interesting from the very start, because you have used the links to reality which most people connect to especially "cry Uncle" to the country needs you image, It almost compel you to read the rest of the blog.

Your take on Good Cop (Saturn)and moral superiority of USA and UK
Thank you,

Jessica

Finely tempered outline of such an incredibly intense, history-making period of transition.

I especially liked your take on the Neptune Aquarius transit, which, like walking around looking for my glasses when they're perched on my forehead, I missed the simple seeing of. Although I'm an entrepreneur and astrologer, and require the internet to stay 'modern' and reach clients and students, I'm becoming less and less interested in it as a phenomenon. The (fun) Wild Wild West days of the net are over -- commercialization has gotten its foot in the door, and everything is turning into some form of whoring or hawking. I'm looking forward to reaching my aim this year of spending only a minimum amount of time online. I've timed it for Jupiter's entry into Pisces ;-)

Best to you in the new decade and congratulations on the gorgeous new face of your site. It's stellar.

Jessica,
Thanks once again for clarity and resonance about what the planets are helping us to integrate during these transits. The above referenced article is the best analysis I find in the media about how these configurations are blasting through some of the illusions about our American self-image. Karen

So insightful, thank you. I find the third from last paragraph particularly resonant. Your interpretation of the time we're in is outstanding.

Dear Jessica,

I was especially moved to write you after reading your `Cry Uncle` article. I read it back to back with one of your earlier articles and I was surprised - and moved - by the directness of this piece. Do I sense anger in it? What I mean by anger is anger as the constructive tool which is almost necessitated by the deep challenges of transformation of which you write? Perhaps it is a tone akin to the same humbling (and needed) astrological forces you describe? Whatever the source may be, I share a similar sentiment.

As someone who is striving also to break through lifetimes of old pain - it is very refreshing to hear someone cut through the rhetoric.

Again, thank you for your words and for the way you approach astrology - as an instrument through which we can learn.
